Shane Patman is an Associate Professor at the National School of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Health Sciences & Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Shane graduated from Sydney University [BAppSc(Physiotherapy)(1990)] then completed a research MSc. (1999) and PhD (2005), both with Curtin University. He is a cardiorespiratory specialist and a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (2009). He also has completed Grad Certs in Uni Teaching (2007) and Not‐for‐Profit Leadership and Management (2016) at Notre Dame, and the Company Directors Course Diploma with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (2011). Beyond Notre Dame Shane has been actively engaged with the physiotherapy profession nationally and internationally serving as Vice‐President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Council, inaugural President of the International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physical Therapists, and Leading the World Physiotherapy Conference Planning Committee for 2021. Shane has 51 peer-reviewed publications (22 in the last 5 years), supervised 3 PhD, 4 Masters & 16 honors students, peer-reviewed over 400 pre-publication manuscripts for 73 journals, and is on 5 journal editorial boards. He is a regular invited speaker nationally and internationally (24 in the last 5 years).
